Bridgewater Middle School10

Winter Garden, FL | Orange County

We moved here last year from out of state and had high hopes for this school. We've been very disappointed. Bullying and dress code are not addressed properly. The PE coach/teacher uses very inappropriate dialogue with student. Guidance does not return calls promptly and when in the front office waiting to pick my son up early for an appointment there were several students loitering near the front desk using obscene language and making derogatory comments towards the woman at the front desk. The school is overcrowded as well. I do not recommend this school.

Bridgewater Middle is one of the most prestigious public schools within the state, mostly because of their high academic expectation and also because of their famous music and gifted programs. Most of the teachers employed in this campus are great teachers who is always willing to help and motivate students and also ensure their academic success. For example, Mrs. Jan Leisher and Mrs.Bermudez are one of the best teachers I had for they motivates and encourage students, while assigning challenging and exciting assignment. Therefore, many students will be pushed to learn, but in the most exciting way for no day will be ever be same in these two classrooms. As a formal student of Bridgewater, I guarantee that this school campus is a safe environment that will encourage many students to get motivated in learning and also help gain different interests. Some of the reviews that are exhibited in this page may say that the staff is arrogant and unhelpful. This might be true since the entire Orange County Public School staffs were changed this year. Therefore, many staffs in this campus is currently still new to the system and might experience some inconvenience as an effect. -S.Yoon

This is honestly a terrible school...from the staff to the teachers; the staff is absolutely useless, they do not help you if you have a question or concern. In regards to the teachers, half of the time they are on their phones or criticizing other teachers... and the physical education coaches are most of the time checking out the woman coach. I do not understand how the principle allows this school to be ran the way it does, it is extremely sad because no one is getting a good education here.

This is a highly rated school because of the quality of the teachers. They are some of the best in the county. I truly feel this school prepares them for high school. Unfortunately, the office staff are rude and arrogant. I dread having to check out my child early or pick them up from the clinic. Overall, I really like the school, it's just too bad it is run like a prison.

I currently attend this school and it is the best school I've ever been to the teachers are focused on sunshine state standards and care about the students and do their best to help a failing student. So I would deffintley recomend this school to anyone. It has the quality of a private school even tho it's a public school. The administrators are great and keep everyone safe and if something goes wrong it's a quick fix. There is almost no physical fighting and if there is the adminstrators are there within a second. So all in all it's an amazing school with amazing staff and students who strive to be the best. So don't think twice about this school because it is the best of the best.

I moved here from another country. I like some teachers. Kids are okay too. But it is too easy for me here. I got all A's in this school. Math program is really weak. Language arts is very easy. science is below average. I like social studies. In my previous school we never write in PE. This review is probably better for kids who came from foreign countries.

Wouldn't attend anywhere else! This is truly an amazing school! The teachers re amazing, and the student body are very kind. Not many gangs or anything, and if something happens, the administrators are quick to fix it. GO BOBCATS! <3

This is a great school! My younger son has attended this school all three years, and has consistently had good teachers. All of his teachers post grades timely to the district on-line gradebook, and most of them keep either a website up-to-date or homework posted to the district gradebook, which lets me keep tabs on my son's assignments. The band program is particularly excellent - it is one of the top band programs in the county, and the directors work hard to help students excel: for instance, this year we have more than 300 students competing at the district Solo & Ensemble contest, and the directors plan to work with each student individually at least twice! Our elder child attended a local prep school, which was snobby, cost a ton of $$ and only cared about the upper 5%tile. We are incredibly glad of our decision to send our younger child to Bridgewater to receive a better education, and for free!

I went to bridge water the first two years that it was open and it was terrible. The rating from a students perspective and a students are totaly different. The teachers other than my gifted teacher did not challenge me at all. Coming from new jersey to a class at bridgewater seemed like a downgrade from education. And in my mind i was bored in my classes for two years straight. The rules are ridiculous when it comes to the courtyard (which is made to be walked on) because we were not allowed to walk on it. So if you are looking at this rating, i suggest asking students who have been there to see if the school is up to par.

Great school. Moved my daughter in to start 7th grade. She was very welcomed by both staff and students. Many clubs to join, great band program. Excellent gifted teacher. Very challenging classes, yet fun for my daughter! Great support for the kids with tutoring program 2 mornings per week. Love this school!!

I went to Bridgewater the first year it was open, half way through the year (came from a Long Island school) and it was very easy! I was in honors classes getting straight A's. I had a few good-great teachers but the rest were poor. Since I left BWM, I have been going to Windermere Prep and like it a lot more, feel that I have to work a lot harder to get straight A's (which is what my mom wants) and I feel like family there. I don't know what BWM was like last year, however, if your child is coming from a private school or one which they had to work hard to reach a 4.0, then you might want to consider a different option for your child's education.
